Rustic marmalade crostatine

The other day I felt like plunging back to my childhood... Crostatine were a daily must for the italian merenda (snack) when back from school. Whilst I use to eat the already packaged ones, I thought it was a very simple recipe to try out and it turned out to be delicious :)

The recipe consists of a short crust pastry (which recipe you can find by clicking here) , marmalade ( I used apricot and strawberry for this one)  and some icing sugar to sprinkle over it when ready to serve.

When your short crust pastry has rested in the fridge for a least 1 hour,  place it into your baking tins and lay the marmalade in each one, use remaining shortcrust to decorate as desired. Bake at 180 C for about 25min and let them cool completely ... Enjoy :)

Koh Lipe - Thailand

*Koh Lipe*

Koh Lipe is one of the most southern islands of Thailand in the Andaman sea and is almost untouched by tourism; its surrounding 50 islands ( part of the Tarutao National Marine Park) are some of the few places left in Thailand where you find deserted white sand beaches and the clearest of emerald waters only a short boat ride away from Koh Lipe.
As the islands are not very developed yet, there are some issues with pollution as the currents do bring some unwanted debris on these paradise beaches... If you do have the chance to discover this beautiful part of Thailand please remember not to leave your traces behind ;)
Here are some pictures of the spectacular marine life surrounding the islands, by next year I will invest in an underwater camera so I can share the fantastic snorkeling with you :)

Michael Kors opening - Singapore

*Michael Kors and I*

Last night was the opening ceremony of the first Michael Kors boutique in Singapore.
Michael Kors himself was there for the opening and he is really one of the nicest people I have met, full of energy and creativity...We were also treated to a big screen video of his S/S 2012 NY fashion show and I have to say it is one of my favorite collection of his so far! Here are some picture of last night's sparkly event:)

Langkawi island - Malaysia

Langkawi - A Malaysian tropical island just 1h30min flight away from Singapore, a perfect long weekend destination. We stayed at the Datai, a Leading hotel of the world, when you sign up for the leading hotels you know your stay will be one to remember... and it was. We stayed 4 days and just relaxed as much as we could swimming in the crystal clear and warm Andaman sea, kayaking to the very close neighboring islands and took a good advantage of the SPA. The hotel is nestled in the middle of the jungle (200 steps from the beach, good exercise!)  and from the pictures below you will see a few friends that paid us a visit every day :)
