This is what I call Fashion Gourmet!

Style icon Anna Dello Russo (ADR) was invited to cook along with Italian culinary journalist and television personality Benedetta Parodi.
Unfortunately for those who struggle with the italian language, this video is all in Italian but here are some facts and quotes about ADR as well as some of her fashion tips for the seasons to come:

ADR on food:
- ADR follows a very healthy lifestyle & diet, she is a vegan and almost only eats raw food, she has never eaten meat

- Anna never adds salt and when necessary replaces it with a little soy sauce

- Although she is from Bari (in the region of Puglia) where a lot of Italy's traditional dishes come from, Anna and her family have always cooked light and healthy dishes

-When she bought her apartment she transformed her kitchen into a wardrobe

She is not passionate about cooking and doesn't have time for it however she is passionate about the fragrance and flavors of food

ADR on fashion:
- Must haves of this season: colorful prints

- "Basta plateau" (no more platforms)! Leave your platforms at home as the new "it" shoes should resemble an object of art" (like the gorgeous YSL's that she is wearing!)

- She is a fashion collector and has been collecting clothes since she was 12 years old

-She has a second apartment that she only uses as a wardrobe

-ADR describes the a/w 2012-13 collections as being affluent, baroque and excessive: "we will be wearing a lot of black and gold as well as embroidered fabrics and statement accessories which will make it a decorative season"

- For the s/s 2013 expect to see a lot of bright colors and never forget the accessories!

On another note, today we are off to Formentera for our friend's wedding and then to Monaco to see our families and to start planning our wedding!!!

Need some summer holiday destination ideas?

When I was working in the yachting industry, I remember going on business trips with my boss to the Maldives and in between meetings I would accompany him in his search of the perfect private island.
His dream was to have his mega yachts anchored by his private Maldivian island during the European winter. A dream right?!
As I was thinking back at those days, I surfed the net and found some of the most beautiful and exclusive private islands... here are some inspirations in case you still hadn't planned your summer vacation ;) ;) ;)
If you had to choose one of them which one would it be?

It's picnic time!

I lived in London for 7 years and I remember that as soon as there was a ray of sunshine during spring time, my friends and I would organize picnics in the park. Unfortunately here in Singapore it is way too hot to even think of setting up a blanket and sitting outside for hours, so here are some pictures that remind me of the good old picnic times :)
Where do you have your picnic? Which of these pictures is your dream picnic setting?

Ps. Happy Birthday to our little bunny rabbit Pousse Mousse !!!

Goat cheese and onion tartlets

I'm French so of course I love cheese! Out of them all, I have to admit my weakness for goat cheese... It reminds me of those days when I accompanied my parents wine and cheese tasting in the region of Sancerre, we would stop by this farm which produced the one and only Crottin de Chavignol cheese and since then it has always been on top of my favorite cheeses list!

It's been a while since I had a salty tart so last weekend I got inspired by this recipe and made some goat cheese and red onion tartlets. The only modification I made to the recipe was that I added a dash of sherry vinegar instead of balsamic vinegar when cooking the onions and instead of adding a drizzle of olive oil on the cooked tartlet I brushed some honey on top of the cheese before baking the tarts in the oven. It's a really easy recipe to make and extremely delicious!!
Enjoy!

Summer 2012 essentials: Espadrilles

*My TOMS - photographed in Venice beach*

Since I discovered the comfort of wearing espadrilles during a beach holiday I just can't get enough of them! This year, we have seen them in many designer catwalks such as Valentino, Missoni or Pucci but if you want to go for a more affordable brand and still be fashionable go for TOMS; also, with each pair of TOMS that you buy one pair is given to a child in need in a developing country. To read more about the TOMS One For One movement click here. In the meantime here are some of my favorite espadrilles around:
Which ones are your favorites?

*Missoni*
