The after-party glitz & glamour!

*Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture*

The reason why I look forward to the Awards season so much is mostly because of the red carpet, I love watching the interviews and mostly admire the beautiful dresses.
Last sunday was the Oscars where usually some of the most stunning dresses make their way but this year I have to tell you that I was a little disappointed, I didn't find 1 dress that gave me the WOW factor... everyone is talking about how the best dressed nomination goes to Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture, yes she did look amazing but the dress still didn't give me the WOW factor, maybe because it's not my style of dress...

This year I preferred the after-party looks, here is my selection:

The monochrome trend:

*Natalie Portman wearing Dior*

*Diane Kruger wearing Giambattista Valli*

*Nina Dobrev wearing Naeem Khan*

The plunging neckline trend:

*Nicole Richie wearing Roberto Cavalli*

*Irina Shayk wearing Stephane Rolland*

*Miranda Kerr wearing Valentino*

Trio de crêpes

On the 2nd of February I was lucky to be with my family and friends to celebrate the french festivity of Chandeleur: the festival of lights also known nowadays as crêpe day! On this day you are supposed to make traditional french crêpes and when making them you should hold a coin in 1 hand and flip the crêpe with the other hand for good luck.

For this occasion we were invited to celebrate Chandeleur at our friends house so I made a basic french batter recipe and poured it in jars which made a perfect gift to bring along.

Recipe:
- 4 eggs
- 250g Flour
- 50ml milk
- 50g butter
- A pinch of salt
- For a sweet batter add a couple of tablespoons of sugar, vanilla beans, a dash of Cointreau or Rum and a drop of fleur d'oranger essence

- Combine the eggs, flour and gradually add the milk (do not mix the eggs and flour without adding milk or you will have a very thick batter almost impossible to work with!)

-melt the butter in a small pan and add to the mixture

-add aromas to taste

February travels

*Lugano*

Happy Monday everyone!!!
I just realized that I have been absent for a while from the blog but I was traveling back to Europe in these last few weeks and every time I am there, there is barely time to do all the things I want!! Between seeing friends and family and organizing our wedding, my days were really full and to top this up, my cheri and I ended the holidays with some flu and bronchitis... not cool!!!
Anyways, here are some pictures of my travels, from London for my hen party to Lugano, Milan and Monaco to visit our families then to Ibiza to plan the wedding stopping by Barcelona just in time for some tapas and to see the Casa Batllo':
