Thanksgiving with a twist

Keep your table decor rustic and minimal

Before entering the whole Christmas/wintery mood, I thought I would wish all my American friends a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. For the occasion I selected some of my favorite things to do for this festivity:

How are you celebrating Thanksgiving?

Create your own Cranberry wreath

Use apples as candle holders

Bake some seasonal pie pops for dessert

Add a touch of Autumn to your gifts

Table decor idea

Bake some apple muffins for those who don't like pumpkin based desserts (like me;) )

Keep your meal healthy by making some soup

Crack open some nuts

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Cambodia travel essentials

Cambodia travel essentials: backpack (from Accessorize) & Lonely Planet guide

First of all sorry to all for the week-long silence, my family is visiting from Europe and I've been traveling around non stop!!!
As part of my travels around Asia, one of the stops is the beautiful country of Cambodia and to be more precise the town of Siem Reap and its breathtaking Angkor Wat temples.
Before showing you pictures of one of the 'new' wonders of the world, here are a few of my essentials when traveling in a very hot, humid, and less developed country, where the main attraction will be trekking through the jungle among the rocky temples.
When traveling in these countries I leave all luxury branded items at home and transform into a total tourist, mainly for respect towards the local people which mostly live in poverty.

Have you ever been to Cambodia?

Cambodia travel essentials: sneakers

Cambodia travel essentials: miniature beauty products, easy and light to carry for a long weekend

Cambodia travel essentials: light white shirt and local bracelets bought at the market

*Thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post, I will get back to you as soon as possible :)

DIY organic winter scrub

In winter like in summer, it is important to keep your body exfoliated and hydrated and what better way to do this than to indulge in an organic homemade wintery scrub?

This week I tried out a DIY recipe by mixing together ingredients and scents that to me are the epitome of winter:

Ingredients:
1 Vanilla pod
1/2 an orange + orange zest
1 cup of fine brown sugar
1 tsp of ground cinnamon
Coconut oil

Method:
*In a bowl mix in the sugar, cinnamon powder and vanilla beans
*Add a sprinkle of orange juice, the orange zest and the coconut oil, mix in all the ingredients with a spoon and adjust the consistency of the scrub as preferred (add more sugar to make it denser, add more orange juice to make it more liquid)

Benefits:
*The sugar will gently exfoliate the dead skin cells
*Orange has astringent properties and acts as a toner to make your skin glow
*Cinnamon simply smells delicious and is known to be used as an antibacterial and exfoliator
*Vanilla beans are said to be anti-inflammatory as well as having soothing properties
*Coconut oil is packed with vitamins and nutrients and is sure to make your skin feel like the softest of all!
