Elegantly SpOoKy

1

Sometimes Halloween decorations can be a little disturbing and obnoxious (which is the whole point of it right?!) however I prefer these slightly more elegant touches to the festivity:

Any favorites? How are you celebrating Halloween this year?

Cap Toe

1

It's been ages since I went in a Mango store and today I just happen to go and check the store out, that's when I came across the golden cap toe pumps. Saw them, tried them, loved them and bought them!

Cap toe shoes are a key item in your shoedrobe this season but that's no news to any fashionista around right?!
Cap toes come in all heights and colors: flats, booties, wedges, pumps, sparkly, patent, studded and they also come in baby sizes (see last picture)!

... And look at who couldn't wait to check them out as soon as I got home!!!!!

Have you found your perfect cap toe shoes for this winter? Here is a little selection of some of my favorite ones:

Tarte fine aux pommes

1

It's been a while since I posted a dessert recipe and I thought that apple season was the perfect excuse to start baking again. I have a weird relationship with apples... I don't like to eat them fresh but I love to eat them cooked and sometimes I would rather go for any apple dessert than a molten chocolate cake!

Here is my recipe for a delicious french apple tart, it's so easy to make you wouldn't believe it and with this one you are sure to impress!

RECIPE for 2 tarts (16cm diameter):
2/3 apples
Puff pastry
Sugar
Butter
Cinnamon
Vanilla bean ice cream

For the puff pastry:
- Roll out the ready made puff pastry thinly on a lightly floured surface. Using a round bowl or cutter, cut into 2 or more rounds (picture 4)
- Prick the pastry with a fork (picture 5)

For the apples:
- Peel, core and finely slice the apples (picture 2&3)
- Place the apples on the pastry following the round shape of the puff
- Brush a generous amount of melted butter all over the tart and sprinkle with fine caster sugar and a touch of cinnamon to give it that extra flavor (picture 6&7)

- Bake in the oven at 190C degrees until golden brown (about 30/40mins)

- Sprinkle icing sugar over the tart and use a blow torch or the grill of the oven to form an extra delicious coating of caramel (picture 8&9)

- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream

Enjoy!

Style your bookshelves

1

It came to a point where our house was overflowing with piles of books and magazines... that's when I told myself 'it's time to buy a bookshelf'! Sometimes bookshelves can look a little boring so I went to look for some inspiration on how to place your books in a cool way and this is what I came across:

How do you style your bookshelves?

2- My friend Eleftherios designed this cool and modern bookshelf for his home - check out his website : http://eleftherios-art.com/

Travel in style - designer hotels

MAISON MOSCHINO - MILAN:

When I travel, I try to immerse myself in the local culture as much as possible however there is another side of me that particularly loves discovering new, modern, 'IN' places and designer hotels are no exception. When Max and I go back to Milan we meet up with our friends M&B and have a tradition of going for aperitivo at the Maison Moschino boutique hotel; We have also tested the Bulgari hotel in Milan and Bali but there are many more that are on my wish list, here are a few of them:

Which are your favorite designer hotels?

HOTEL MISSONI - KUWAIT

ARMANI HOTEL - DUBAI:

PALAZZO VERSACE - DUBAI (opening soon):

HOTEL DU PETIT-MOULIN (BY CHRISTIAN LACROIX) - PARIS:

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG for CLARIDGES -LONDON:
