Coup de coeur

Christian Louboutin has created a unique capsule collection to celebrate 20 years of the brand. My heart melted when I came across this Artemis bag, it makes me think of the colorful Brazilian carnival that just took place!
What do you think about it?

In case you missed it...

*Giuliana Rancic wearing Tony Ward*

Here we are at one of the most awaited red carpets of the year:
The 2012 Academy Awards.
I admit, I am a RedCarpetaholic, I just admire all the work that has been put into those stunning dresses and the live interviews are fun to watch too! In this post I gathered the 3 outfits that I thought were outstanding: Giuliana Rancic, Milla Jovovich and Gwyneth Paltrow. In the meantime I'm crossing fingers for my compatriot Jean Dujardin to win the Oscar for best actor :)

The creators and their creations

There are always hundreds of beautiful creations to share during fashion week, but as I always say, if I posted all of them your eyes wouldn't know where to look anymore! Furthermore I'm sure you have already been on the fashion sites to see them all!
In this post I selected some of my favorite designers together with 1 piece of their collection that I particularly enjoyed at New York Fashion Week.

Do you have any favorites from NYFW?

2 statement items for next season

As I was going through H&M's new collection I came across these two items that I find perfect for this spring: a mint jumper and a chunky neon and transparent necklace. The necklace turned out to be a real good buy as it makes a statement to the simplest of outfits whereas the jumper I will have to wait to wear when I am next in Europe ;)

Outfit of the night

*The shoe of the evening: Christian Louboutin Bis un bout - worn by Rihanna and Alicia Keys*

Before we start talking about some serious fashion week shows, trends, street styles, front rows and more, I wanted to share with you one of the outfits I liked the most at the 2012 Grammys.
For me the big winner of the night was Rihanna wearing a Giorgio Armani dress and Louboutin Bis un bout shoes. If you think about it, what she wore could have turned out into something vulgar and OTT, I'm not talking about the dress itself (it is just too elegantly gorgeous), I'm just saying that a bad make-up and an over flow of chunky accessories could have had Joan Rivers go coco bongo about it on Fashion Police !!!

What was your favorite outfit of the evening?
Do you like Rihanna's look or do you find it too osée?

The other beautiful dresses on the red carpet which also made it to my best dressed list were Adele, Jessie J, Carrie Underwood, Alicia Keys and Gwyneth Paltrow:

Love potion

For all of you who celebrate Valentine's day, here is a recipe that will surely make your other half melt:
A homemade chocolate soufflé served with a raspberry cream
I always thought this was going to be a difficult recipe but it turns out to be easy if you follow the exact instructions and measurements. I used Gordon Ramsay's recipe which you can find here or on youtube here

We don't celebrate Valentine's day as we prefer to surprise each other with romantic gestures when we least expect it, but to all of you who celebrate it: Happy Valentine's day!

Tips:
*Before placing the soufflé in the oven, make sure that the border of your ramequin is clean so that the  soufflé can rise properly.
*Serve with a spoon of homemade raspberry cream

Raspberry Cream recipe (from Gordon Ramsay's Desserts cookbook)
200g raspberries
squeeze of lemon juice
1-2 tablespoons of icing sugar
300ml double cream - chilled

1- Purée the raspberries in a blender, add the lemon juice and sweeten with icing sugar (to taste)
2- Pass the puree through a sieve into a bowl, cover and chill
3- Just before serving, whip the cream until if forms soft, floppy peaks, then fold in the raspberry purée

Enjoy!

Blogosphere goes white!

When someone talks about a snow outfit, the first things that might come into your mind are moon boots, ski suits, ski goggles and all that bulky skiing holiday outfit... well not in fashion world. Here is a selection of some of the coolest fashion snow outfits that we have seen in blogosphere these past snowy weeks :)

My first Gordon Ramsay recipe

Beef Fillet with a gratin of wild mushrooms

This is the first recipe I use from the Gordon Ramsay Chef's Secrets cookbook. When you think of such a talented chef you might think that the recipes are going to be too difficult, but trust me, when it comes to the savory dishes, they are just sophistically simple to make ;)

(You can also find this recipe on youtube by clicking here).

You can modify this recipe by using ingredients which are easy for you to find, for example in the cookbook Gordon uses mushrooms like Ceps, Girolles and Morels but they are not easy to find here in Singapore so I used Asian mushrooms such as Shitake and Enoki.
In the youtube video, Gordon only uses Chives but in the cookbook he uses parsley, chervil and chives which taste delicious when combined. Finally, to give a nice kick to the mushroom flavor, add 2 tablespoons of white wine to them towards the end of their cooking time.

*The best advice I can give you for a successful and tasty recipe?
Don't forget the seasoning!

Enjoy!
