For me weekends are a time to take it easy, relax with my boyfriend, see my friends, go for brunch, have a nice dinner and then a couple of drinks out :) but weekends are also a time when I like to flip the pages of my favorite fashion magazines. Here are a few ads and shoots that i particularly enjoyed :)

Vanilla Cupcakes

Yesterday i made my favorite vanilla cupcakes:) It is quite hard to find a good cupcake recipe without the cupcakes coming out as "sugar bombs". The one I use is from the Hummingbird Bakery book 

and it is simply delicious!

Tip 1: always have your ingredients at room temperature 

Tip 2: always sift the flour (for the batter) and the icing sugar (for the icing) so you don't get any lumps

Tip 3: for a fluffy buttercream icing beat the mixture for at least 3 minutes

*I use Tahitian vanilla pods*

*The most common recipe of cupcakes starts by creaming the butter and the sugar together. Hummingbird mixes all the dry ingredients first and than incorporates the eggs and milk*

*Sifting the icing sugar to make the buttercream icing*

*Finger-lickin good buttercream icing :p *

*I like to put the icing with a spatula instead of using a piping bag*

*Sprinkle some edible glitter for a touch of sparkle :)*

Mykonos preview :)

Almost 2 weeks left till we fly back to Europe for some island hopping in in the Mediterranean and one of my favorite islands is Mykonos in Greece. 

Yes, it is said to be very touristy  but if you go with Greeks and avoid the over crowded places, Mykonos is a real little eden.

 Enjoy a preview of the beautiful island from my holidays in the past years and see you there in August for more :)

Last weekend my boyfriend surprised me to an adventurous weekend in Ho Chi Minh City.

We stayed at the beautiful Park Hyatt hotel and enjoyed our 2 days visiting the city and relaxing at the pool. We also had a feel of the city's nightlife which i have to say is pretty vibrant!

We enjoyed the best of vietnamese food and just had a wonderful time :)
